I’ve never seen him this angry before. The persistently calm, composed man was now absolutely infuriated. The veins in his forehead were desperately trying to writhe their way out of his skin. And his jaw was clenched so tightly that I swore I heard his teeth creaking under the pressure. I was terrified, and waiting to see what he would do next; and then he said it†¦ My grandpa was the most composed man I know. When he talked with adults, he was very imperturbable; never rose his voice, never spoke out of turn, never aimed to offend. His words were very calculated and intentional. Simply put; he said precisely what he needed and wanted to say. With children he would get a bit silly, but still never offensive or inappropriate. This reliability, this consistency, was probably the biggest reason he and I had such a strong connection. Him being a very devout man of faith also contributed to this personality I think. Following my parents’ divorce, when my parents werenà ¢â‚¬â„¢t exactly the most reliable, he was. I never had to worry about anything because my grandpa was there. He would give us rides to school when my mother couldn’t, feed us when money was tight, get us new clothes and school supplies when needed, let us stay at the spare rooms in his house, and just helped out any way he could. The United States is faced with the problem of what should be done with the excess of stray animals. This is a complex thing to solve, but that doesn’t mean killing the animals for space is right. Stray dogs and cats have just as much right to a good home as pets that already have owners. On March 29, 1973, the last U.S. troops were withdrawn from Vietnam, and soon after in 1975, the South Vietnamese capital of Saigon fell to the hands of North Vietnam. Modern day Vietnam (Known as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) was founded a year after in 1976. During the Vietnam War, the U.S. was faced with an unfamiliar, grueling environment. The hot, humid forests and jungles combined with deadly animals like the infamous â€Å"Two-step snake† were radically different compared to the European city warfare experienced in World War II.
